		<description>One thing that struck me about Chicago and the cruise offerings from there is that Christmas and New Years cruises are available from most of the larger cruise lines operating from that port.

I&#039;m much more familiar with Northern ports on the Great Lakes which are usually locked in ice most of the winter, and so I was startled to see so many offerings during what I would consider the &quot;off&quot; season.
