Costa Rica Adventure

Costa Rica WaterfallHave you ever considered a Costa Rica Adventure, rather than just soaking up the sun?

Some people want to spend their vacation relaxing on a beach, their only exercise involving applying more sun tan lotion. However, others like to be more adventurous and pursue their hobbies or try out something new to get the adrenaline pumping. Costa Rica has become a popular destination of late and a Costa Rica adventure holiday is designed for those who thrive on excitement.

There are lots of companies that supply qualified guides and equipment for outdoor activities in this region. Whitewater Rafting and Kayaking are particularly popular here, given the number of white water rivers and waterfalls. The scenery is spectacular as participants wind their way through miles of rainforest. The sport of Canyoning is also catered for. Thick jungle and rivers strewn with boulders make challenging terrain and instructors will teach how to negotiate with ropes and harnesses.

Some wonderful natural landmarks are only accessible on horseback and a Costa Rica adventure is ideal for horseback riders to journey through forest, mountain trails and across jungle rivers. Nature lovers and bird watchers will also appreciate this area. Expert naturalist guides take groups through isolated regions to spot tree frogs, lizards, snakes, plants, caymans and exotic birds.

It’s also possible to take to the skies in hot air balloons, an opportunity to see the monkeys and birds in the canopy of trees. The balloon will travel over rainforest and mountain villages with passengers in a traditional wicker basket. The highlight of any trip on a Costa Rica adventure is to go over the Arenal Volcano, an active volcano and so the pilot will not get too close!

If mountain bikers like it tough, then this is the place to come. Near vertical 4×4 mountain tracks will test even the most experienced. However, there are less challenging trails too. Bikers will be taken through jungle, rivers and beaches. Equipment will include helmets, gloves, water bottles and energy bars. As well as the guides, there is a support vehicle, 2-way radios and first aid kits.

4×4 vehicle trips are also an exciting prospect. Most rural roads are made from mud or dirt. It’s worth the effort because these vehicles can access areas that smaller cars can’t. Drivers will be rewarded with some terrific scenery and the opportunity to see wildlife on their Costa Rica adventure.

Sea Kayaking is also popular as the country is bordered by two seas. Kayakers go through estuaries, canals and the pleasantly warm Caribbean. The trip will comprise of everything from gentle paddling to wilder stretches of water.

Caribbean Honeymoon

The Perfect Caribbean Honeymoon

CaribbeanThe Caribbean is one of the most popular holiday destinations for folks from the Americas.  Because of its latitude, the weather year-round is warm and generally sunny.  So whether it’s June or January, you can probably find blue waters, white sand beaches, and relaxation no matter where you are.

As such, many Caribbean nations have thriving tourist industries that range from all-inclusive resorts like Sandals or Club Med, to independent Bed & Breakfasts in the countryside with helpful locals who can point you to the various sights.  And what’s more, most Caribbean countries have their own distinct heritage and culture, making each new island an adventure and experience in and of itself.

My brother and his wife went on a Caribbean honeymoon to Antigua six years ago, and they still adore the memories of their time there.  Rather than take the all-inclusive route, they decided to rent a house on the beach and go wherever they decided was worth exploring on the day.  One day they rented a jeep and drove inland, exploring dormant volcanoes and lush rain forests.  On other days they went snorkeling, sailing, fishing, scuba diving, you name it.  And of course, no Caribbean honeymoon would be complete without a day or two spent just lying on the beach, soaking up the sun and sucking back daiquiris.  It’s a moral imperative to treat yourself to that much.

Of course, not all Caribbean honeymoons are created equal.  Were I to go to the Caribbean, I’d probably be more interested in an all-inclusive resort that had a casino and highly regarded restaurants  rather than the “Caribbean honeymoon adventure” type that my brother and his wife did.

And of course, resorts of that kind can be found all over the Caribbean.  Harrah’s and Caesar’s have made some serious investments in the region, as have Club Med and Sandals, so for those of you who like to be pampered, you should check out those websites to find the package that best suits your needs.

Many, many resorts are actually couples only and cater exclusively to honeymooners.  These are typically Sandals, though other companies have started following suit in order to compete for a shrinking pool of expendable cash.

So do your research online, talk to a travel agent or two, and try to find the Caribbean honeymoon that suits you best.  Sun, sand and fruity drinks await!

Florida Holidays

Soak Up The Sun on Your Florida Holidays

Florida BeachFlorida has long been a popular area for both retirement and holidays. The reason for this is because Florida tends to have great weather all throughout the year, if you can get around the hurricane season, that is. Besides the great weather, there are some wonderful places to have Florida holidays that many wish to visit at least once in their lives. When you want to go, you should think about when you are going and where you wish to visit so you can avoid some of the busier times of the year. There are times though, when you just have to put up with the crowds.

Probably one of the most popular Florida holidays is Disney. Families with children and adults who are young at heart visit this place throughout the year. Not everyone wants to go to Disney, but most find that they think it would be a lovely place to visit. Florida holidays are often wrapped around a trip to Disney. It is one of the most popular destinations in the country, and the state of Florida is well aware of this. Other popular Florida holidays often include beaches and shopping.

When you are planning your Florida holidays, you have think about when you are going to go. If you go in the middle of winter, you are going to enjoy nicer weather than you would find in the northern part of the country. However, you may find that this is one of the busier times of year, as this is when many take their Florida holidays. If you want to go in the middle of summer, you may find that the crowds are a bit less, but you are going to feel the heat and humidity when you go. You may have to decide which bothers you more, the extreme heat or the crowds, and then plan accordingly.

Booking Florida holidays is rather easy. Because this is a popular destination, there are many different packages that you can get that take all of the hassle out of planning. You can find airfare, hotel, and other things included if you know where you want to go. If you want to have holidays that are off the beaten path, you may have to do most of the planning on your own, but many will tell you that the state of Florida is well worth the effort you put into planning your dream vacation.

Costa Rica Honeymoons

Exotic Costa Rica Honeymoons

Costa RicaWhen I got married six years ago, we didn’t have enough money to take a proper honeymoon. Like most young newlyweds, we were more interested in paying off our student loans and saving for a house than in spending tons of money on wedding stuff. We did go away to Vegas for the weekend, which was nice, but that doesn’t really count in the grand scheme of things. Fortunately, we’re in a much better financial position these days, which is why we’re currently looking at Costa Rica honeymoons.

With our anniversary coming up, we thought this would be a great way to finally take that honeymoon that we deprived ourselves of all those years ago. After some debate, we decided that Costa Rica honeymoons would give us the most bang for our buck, as we’d get to see a truly exotic place and participate in exciting activities all for a very reasonable price. Places like San Jose, Playa Santa Teresa, and Guanacaste are top destinations for newlyweds because of their beautiful beaches and breathtaking scenery. When you add in the relatively low cost compared to other overseas paradises, Costa Rica honeymoons definitely emerge as the best choice.

We haven’t quite decided which resort we want to go to yet, but we know that we want an all-inclusive package. Many Costa Rica honeymoons are marketed this way anyway, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to find something to our liking. We want to stay at a five-star hotel located just steps away from the beach so we can enjoy ourselves out in the sun and sea. It will be amazing to have waiters bringing us umbrella drinks all day long as we lounge around soaking up the rays and taking in our surroundings! Then, if we get bored with the beach, we can always charter a fishing boat, take surfing lessons, go snorkeling, hit the malls or nightclubs, or even just head back to our suite for some alone time. Oh yes, Costa Rica honeymoons sound wonderful!

Once we select a few all-inclusive packages that appeal to us the most, we can begin talking to travel agents to work out a decent price. I’ve seen the prices of some Costa Rica honeymoons at online travel websites, and am sure we can afford a very nice vacation. But I have a feeling that we might be able to get some additional discounts or vouchers by working with a knowledgeable, connected agent, so that’s worth a shot.

I’m glad we decided to look into Costa Rica honeymoons even though all this time has passed since our wedding day. Once we choose our vacation package and take off, I know we’re going to have one of the most memorable experiences of our lives — and that’s something worth waiting for!
